Margin Calculator for BOM costing and quoting
The Modustra IQ Margin Calculator imports a bill of materials, costs it with parts and labour, sets the margin, and shows the price at every quantity break before it goes on a quote.
Pricing custom work usually lives in a spreadsheet: a margin calculator someone built years ago, a price sheet beside it, and a currency cell that may or may not have been updated. The Margin Calculator brings that into Modustra IQ, where it is attached to the part, the revision, and the quote that depends on it.
Start with the bill of materials. Import it from a spreadsheet or build it from the catalog, add manual lines for machine time and assembly labour, and every line carries its quantity, unit cost, and extended cost through to a total. Set a cost multiplier or type a list price directly, define your discount levels, and the calculator shows the selling price, margin in dollars, and margin percentage at every quantity break, in CAD or USD at the rate you set for the project.
Each save is recorded, so the pricing history of a part is there the next time it is quoted, along with notes on assumptions and sourcing. Drawings, PDFs, and STEP models attach to the revision, with STEP files opening in the built-in 3D viewer. When the numbers are right, the costed part goes straight onto a quote.
